For the investigation of Niemann-Pick Type C disease
Co-sponsored by
$75,000 per annum for two years (competitive renewable)
The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation (APMRF) and Dana's Angels Research Trust (DART) are inviting applications for postdoctoral research fellowships examining the neurobiology of Niemann-Pick Type C (NP-C) disease. M.D.'s, M.D./Ph.D.'s and Ph.D. postdoctoral fellows may apply for funding to investigate the neurobiology and neuropathology of Niemann-Pick Type C (NP-C) disease, a lethal lysosomal storage disorder associated with impaired macromolecular trafficking in the endosomal-lysosomal system and characteristic neuropathology. Major gaps exist in understanding basic mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction and death, and in identifying biomarkers of disease activity for diagnosis and clinical trials. Preference will be given to candidates whose research plans are directed to these areas of need.
