It is with much excitement that we write to invite you to attend our annual Michael, Marcia, and Christa Parseghian Scientific Conference for Niemann-Pick Type C Research. This event will take place from Saturday, June 4th through Tuesday, June 7th at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona.
From the first conference organized by the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, we have seen our hope grow, as we continue to hear positive research updates and stories. We hope that you will be able to attend this year’s conference to experience this in person.
This year, the conference will include presentations submitted from abstracts and from:
Andrew Brown: Control of Cholesterol: Sensing and Synthesis Rick Morimoto: Proteostasis and HDAC Inhibitors Neale Ridgway: OSBPL1 regulation of cholesterol and lipid trafficking Carsten Schultz: Sphingosine regulation of lysosomal calcium Haoxing Xu: Calcium signaling from lysosomes HY Rob Yang: Akt Regulation of NPC function Roberto Zoncu: Nutrient regulation of mTORC1 at lysosomes
We will begin with a welcome dinner on Saturday, at 5:30 p.m., and end on Tuesday at noon. Please note that some of the sessions will be restricted to NP-C Researchers only. To register please go to the following website: http://niemannpick.nd.edu/conference.
There is a registration fee of $300 for attendees, which is reduced to $150 for graduate students and NPC family members. We have reserved a block of rooms at The Westin La Paloma Resort (888-627-7201) at $105 per night (plus applicable taxes) under the name 2016 Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation Scientific Conference. Please note: Abstracts must be submitted by April 1st. They should be written as lay descriptions for public dissemination and should be no longer than one page.
